The Intelix DIGI-HD-4X8 HDMI Distribution Amplifier distributes four HDMI sources to as many as eight remote locations, using either one of eight HDMI outputs or twisted-pair cabling, such as Cat5 or Cat6.
Built-in HDshāk® technology provides dynamic HDMI, EDID/DDC and HDCP mode selection, guaranteeing performance and image quality. Plus, onboard HDMI amplification and buffering allows multiple receivers to be daisy-chained for greater distances.
If you take a look at the back panel, you will find four HDMI inputs, eight HDMI outputs and eight twisted-pair extender outputs and one IR return jack and four IR pass through jacks. To distribute HDMI only, only one single Cat5e/6 cable is required. If IR control from the remote zone(s) is also needed, two Cat 5e/6 cables are required.
When using Cat5e twisted-pair cable, the maximum range is 200 feet for 480i / 480p / 720p / 1080i signals and 100 feet for 1080p signals. If using shielded Cat6, the maximum range is extended to 300 feet for 480i / 480p / 720p / 1080i signals and 150 feet for 1080p signals. For even more range, cascade up to five DIGI-HD-XR repeaters.
The DIGI-HD-4X8 is HDMI version 1.3 capable as well, making it a perfect choice for more advanced systems. Advanced chipsets and firmware promise superior HDCP compatibility and trouble-free operation.
Included in the box is the DIGI-HD-4X8 unit itself, power supply, (1) wireless remote control, (1) IR Receiver, (4) IR Emitters, (2) rack ears and (4) shelf feet.
Twisted-pair receivers are sold separately (below), so you can get exactly the functionality you need. Use any combination of receivers, up to a total of eight receivers. (add to your cart below):

As with virtually all systems that are based upon twisted-pair cable technology, the Intelix HDMI Twisted-pair Distribution System will work with virtually any twisted-pair cables, including Cat-5e and Cat-6, but range and bandwidth is directly related to both distance and cable quality, so to get the highest resolutions at the greatest distances, you will want high-quality, low-skew cables. DIGI-HD-4x8 Twisted Pair Distribution Amplifier
A true matrix switcher, the DIGI-HD-4X8 features four HDMI inputs, eight HDMI outputs and eight twisted pair extender outputs—and both HDMI and twisted pair outputs are live simultaneously. When used in conjunction with a compatible Intelix twisted pair receiver, the matrix extends output signals up to 300 feet over a single twisted pair cable. Trademarked HDshāk processing provides local remote display EDID storing and enhanced bandwidth limiting, thereby allowing the installer to optionally disable high-bandwidth HDMI elements—such as deep color, 3D and HD audio—to guarantee performance when using low-grade cables.
The matrix supports 1080i and 1080p high-definition video and is HDCP compliant. All operations are controlled via a diagnostic front panel interface or remotely via RS232, IR, or Ethernet. The system also ships with a wireless remote control and includes rack ears to install in a 19”rack.
In addition, the DIGI-HD-4X8 also features four pass-through IR channels which distribute remote IR commands from in-room controllers over the twisted pair cable and out of the matrix, thereby allowing complete control of sources from the remote destination. The IR channels follow the matrix switching.
