Use the Intelix RF-F Broadband Video Balun to send RF signals over a single twisted-pair cable, such as Cat-5 or Cat-6. Perfect for cable TV and Internet service that runs over coaxial cable.
This professional-grade device uses a high-performance passive design to deliver high-quality RF signals up to 100 meters (330 feet) over a single CAT 5 type cable. The RF-F is ideal for corporate A/V, schools, universities, as well as for discriminating individuals - just about any situation that involves a low-level RF interface.
As with virtually all systems that are based upon twisted-pair cable technology, the Intelix RF-F will work with virtually any twisted-pair cables, including Cat-5e and Cat-6, but range and bandwidth are directly related to both distance and cable quality, so to get the highest resolutions at the greatest distances, you will want high-quality, low-skew cables. If you want the very best pre-terminated cables, please consider our VideoTwist cables.
Notice that Intelix Baluns are designed to work with standard unshielded CAT5, CAT6, or CAT7 cable - shielded cable is not required!
While the RF-F may be used stand-alone, if you need a clean rack mounting option for a variety of baluns, the 19" rack kit, DIN-RACK-KIT-F, is ideal.
These units are sold singly, although two are required for a complete hook-up. We do offer a kit below that includes two baluns at a discounted price.
Like most Intelix products, the RF-F comes with a two year limited warranty from the manufacturer.
The Intelix RF-F balun is ideal for transmitting cable TV channels 2 to 150 up to 330 feet over structured cabling, such as Cat 5.
The Intelix RF-F balun passively transmits broadband (RF) video over unshielded twisted pair cabling, such as Cat 5 or Cat 5e. Used in pairs, the RF-f transmits video up to 330 feet, providing a low-cost versatile cabling solution which uses a building’s existing structured cabling system.
The Intelix RF-F is ideal for private RF networks, guestroom TV and internet services, apartments and condominiums, schools and universities, and corporate audio-visual environments. The RF-F is designed for point-to-point connections.
*Distances and picture quality may be affected by cable grade, cable quality, source and destination equipment, RF and electrical interference, and cable patches. Intelix specifications are based on straight-through cabling with standard-grade Cat 5.
When signal quality matters, choose Intelix.
Here is a look at the RF end of the balun.
Example System: A cable signal is routed up to 330 feet over Cat 5 cabling to a television using two RF-F baluns. A user then switches through cable channels 1-150.
