The Intelix FLX-44 4x4 HDMI Ethernet and IR over HDBaseT Matrix Distribution System accommodates up to four HDBaseT twisted-pair zone receivers, as well as two local HDMI outputs, making it simple to create a sophisticated HDMI, 100BaseT Ethernet, and IR matrix distribution system.
Two local HDMI outputs, as well as local analog stereo audio outputs (de-imbedded from HDMI) for all four zones make it easy to interface with equipment at the head end of the distribution system.
Both HDBaseT and local HDMI outputs are active simultaneously, so a total of six zones can be driven. Use standard UTP twisted-pair cabling, such as Cat-6 to connect remote zones at distances as great as 60 meters (197 feet) via the HDBaseT protocol, and standard HDMI cables to connect local zones.
HDBaseT twisted-pair receivers are sold separately below, so you can get exactly the functionality you need. Use any combination of receivers, up to a total of four receivers (add to cart below):
The HDBaseT standard supports distances up to 70 meters (230 feet) at 1080p, although maximum range is also affected by other factors such as refresh rate and color depth, so please see the full spec sheet for more details. To give you an idea of what you can expect, here are a few examples:
Control the matrix system from the front panel, the included IR remote control, or use the built-in web server to control the DIGI-HD44 from any computer or smart phone. And of course, an RS-232 interface is included for interfacing with most third-party control systems.
As with virtually all systems that are based upon twisted-pair cable technology, the Intelix Flex Matrix Distribution System will work with virtually any twisted-pair cables, including Cat-5e and Cat-6, but range and system bandwidth are directly related to both distance and cable quality, so to get the highest resolutions at the greatest distances, you will want high-quality, low-skew cables. Check the installation manual for more information. If you want the very best pre-terminated cables, please consider our VideoTwist cables.
Like most Intelix products, the FLX-44 comes with a two year limited warranty from the manufacturer.
The Intelix FLX-44 is a four input by four output HDBaseT/HDMI matrix switcher. The Intelix FLX-44 matrix improves the ease of installation similar to previous Intelix HDMI matrix switchers.
The FLX-44 features HDBaseT twisted pair extension for each output, and simultaneous HDMI on the first two outputs, allowing the same signal to be routed to the HDMI connector and a remote destination with an HDBaseT receiver. The HDBaseT ports support 1080p HDMI video with audio, bi-directional wide-band IR, matrix control via IR, RS232 tunneling, and HDCP up to 60 meters (196 feet). Each HDBaseT output port supplies power to the attached extender, eliminating the need for a power supply at the display end. Each output features a stereo audio de-embedder for connection to amplifiers or DSPs.
The FLX-44 can be controlled via front panel buttons, front panel IR, external IR, remote IR through HDBaseT extenders, RS232, and Ethernet. Clear button caps provide legible text on the front panel, which can be customized for each installation. The matrix includes a simple IR remote control to allow IR switching. This IR remote control can be learned into universal remotes and IR based control systems. An IR All In port is provided, which allow one IR connection to control all four remote displays.
The matrix also features a full command set for RS232 and Ethernet control with third party control systems, plus control via a web browser. RS232 commands to remote displays can also be embedded in the control stream through the matrix from both the RS232 and Ethernet control ports, which will reduce the number of serial ports required for the control system.
The FLX-44 is HDMI compatible and supports up to 2K resolutions, Deep Color, and full 3D capabilities. The matrix features advanced EDID and HDCP handling, including the ability to turn HDCP compliance ON and OFF to ensure maximum functionality with a wide range of sources.

Here is a look at the back of the FLX-44.
If you click the image above, you will see that that on the left side of the back panel there is a single IR input that is routed to all HDBaseT outputs. Just right of that are connections for 4 IR emitters and 4 HDMI sources.
The center of the panel is dedicated to the four zones, each of which includes an IR input, local HDMI output, HDBaseT Twisted-Pair driver port, as well as Euroblock "Phoenix" connectors for bi-directional RS-232 and analog audio.
On the far right are connections for an IR receiver, Ethernet, RS-232 and power, as well as a power status LED..
