This Audio Authority AVP-11 UniDrive 1:1 Active Dual Cat 5 Component / Digital Audio Extender System uses an active design, so it can transmit high-definition component video, as well as both analog and digital audio, up to 1000 feet, using inexpensive CAT5-type cables - a range that passive balun systems simply cannot achieve! Employing Audio Authority's industry-leading AGE (Active Gain Equalization) technology, the UniDrive system delivers
pristine HDTV video at all resolutions up to 1080p, as well as full bandwidth analog stereo audio and multi-channel
digital audio. The
AVP-11 even includes a return pathway for IR control. The transmitter and receiver units are small enough
that they can be mounted just about anywhere.

Overview
The UniDrive is "A Better Kind of Balun" - a high performance active point-to-point Cat 5 extender capable of distributing high definition component video, analog stereo audio, and digital audio signals from one source to one display over distances up to 1,000 feet. Including proprietary A.G.E. (Active Gain Equalization) technology, high frequency signals are presented with their original quality intact. Incorporating the key signal paths necessary for premium audio and video entertainment, plus an IR pathway for easy remote control of AV components, the AVP-11 replaces six coaxial cables with two inexpensive, easy to install Cat 5 cables, and requires no power at the Cat 5 Receiver.

What makes the UniDrive "A Better Kind of Balun"?
- Proprietary A.G.E.(Active Gain Equalization) circuitry allows for compensation over long distances, something a passive balun can't deliver
- More installation friendly than most "active" baluns - power pack is only required at the transmitter, making for a clean appearance in the viewing area

Receiver Options
The included 9880 Cat 5 receiver can be conveniently mounted on any surface, on or inside a wall, or even on a TV or TV mount. The UniDrive transmitter is also compatible with the 9878 and 9879 wallplate/receivers that can be installed in dual-gang or single-gang electrical boxes, respectively. 9879 wallplate/receivers come with three Decora color inserts: white, ivory, and almond. The Infrared Pathway
The 3.5mm IR jacks provide convenient access for a third party IR remote distribution network over the passive, three-wire pathway on the Cat 5 cable. IR receiver and emitter equipment is not included.
