The Jensen Transformers
VB-1RR Baseband-Composite Video Isolator offers powerful 120 dB ground isolation, making it the ideal choice for video
surveillance systems, or anywhere that high-performance ground-loop isolation is needed.
Housed in a sturdy metal enclosure, the VB-1RR measures 4.32" W x 2.6" D x 1.45" H., including the flanges. There are pre-drilled holes in the flanges, making it easy to mount on standard rack rails, inside of a NEMA enclosure, or on any surface.
.Please do not confuse the VB-1RR with similar (but inferior) products. Jensen Transformers' ISO-MAX Studio-Quality Video Isolators provide the ultimate signal interface solutions. They solve the fundamental problems associated with ground loops, without degrading signal quality.
Also available with RCA Connectors as VB-1BB.

With inferior products coming from all over the world, we think it is a genuine treasure to find a company like Jensen Transformers, actually designing and manufacturing some of the finest products in the world, right here in the USA, and we are proud to be able to offer their products. The VB-1RR is made in the USA, is backed by the manufacturer's comprehensive one-year warranty, and has a remarkable 20-year warranty on the transformer device itself.
It is a subject that is seldom discussed in manufacturers publications, or even in magazines of the trade, but ground loops can happen even in the most carefully planned A/V system. When ground loops happen in a video system, the result is unwanted hum or video hum bars.
For example, in video surveillance systems, the power supplies for the cameras are are typically powered by a different source than the equipment that is used to record and/or view the video.
When devices in the same system are powered by separate power sources, that can cause a difference in ground potential between the two pieces of equipment. It can be because one of the circuits is loaded more heavily than the other, or because one run is longer than the other, or any number of other reasons that are beyond the scope of this article, but the result of this difference in ground potential is commonly referred to as a ground loop.
The Jensen Transformers VB-1RR is elegant in its simplicity. In the example above one would simply insert the VB-1RR anywhere in the video path between the camera and the monitor. Immediately, the effects of the ground loop become a non-issue. Problem solved. There are not too many things that one can install in a video system that can provide so much improvement with so little effort.
Good cables are very important in the fight against hum and noise. You will need at least one short patch cable in order to insert the VB-1RR into your signal path, and you may want to consider upgrading your existing cable(s) as well. The VB-1RR does not include any cables, but if you need them, we have some very high-performance composite video cables available. Please click here to see them!
The Iso•Max VB-1RR is a single-channel 75 Ω video isolator for composite (baseband) video that is used to prevent 60 cycle ‘hum
bars’ even where ground voltage differences are very large such as in surveillance video systems, night clubs, video walls, broadcast
stations, and industrial plants.
The Iso•Max VB-1RR is a single-channel 75 Ω video isolator for composite (baseband) video that is used to prevent 60 cycle ‘hum bars’ even where ground voltage differences are very large such as in surveillance video systems, night clubs, video walls, broadcast stations, and industrial plants.
Designed for use with standard RG59 type coaxial cable, the VB-1RR combines true 75 Ω RCA connectors with a custom wound transformer to minimize reflection. The unique design delivers an exceptionally linear bandwidth from 10 Hz to 10 MHz with virtually zero insertion loss. Plug and play easy to use, the VB-1RR features a flanged, electrically isolated housing that is easily mounted on standard 19” rack rails or inside a NEMA enclosure. One simply connects the passive device in series and problems such as ground loops are eliminated, reducing noise by as much as 120 dB.
The VB-1RR is a tremendous time saver as it eliminates excessive trouble-shooting when hunting down sporadic problems. Once installed, it often eliminates future service calls that can be attributed to non-related voltage fluctuations caused by cycling refrigeration systems, power transformers or nearby industrial facilities that may be causing power disruptions.
The Jensen Iso•Max VB-1RR delivers remarkable video quality without noise, contamination or artifact.
Design excellence, high quality materials, meticulous workmanship, and superior service...put it all together and you get a superior product. Don't get stuck with bad advice, poor service, slow shipment or an inferior product. If you want the best, here it is.
