The Jensen Transformers JT-DB-EPC ISO-MAX 12:1 "Direct Box" Transformer features a double Faraday shield and a 30 dB magnetic shield. Also available with angle bracket mount and wire leads.
These Jensen Direct Box Transformers are the ideal choice for coupling guitar pickups, musical instrument and other line level outputs to low impedance microphone inputs. They also give excellent results when used as an output transformer for Tube type condenser microphones. Direct Box transformers provides ground isolation and allow long cable runs from high impedance sources without excessive bandwidth loss.
Here are some specs:
It may also be worth mentioning that the JT-DB-EPC is a direct replacement for the CT283 transformer, as used in the Rode Classic II microphone. Also available with angle bracket mount and wire leads.
The JT-DB-EPC is backed by the manufacturer's comprehensive one-year warranty, and has a remarkable 20-year warranty on the transformer device itself.
When loaded by the 1 kΩ input impedance typical of mic preamplifiers, this transformer has a 140 kΩ input impedance, making it ideal for high impedance sources. It can be used with or without an active buffer as a "direct box" for electric guitars or synthesizers. A 30 dB magnetic shield package is standard.
This picture shows the bottom of the transformer.
The JT-DB-EPC is packaged in a small cardboard box as shown here, and we include a printed copy of the data sheet.
