This Cable Solutions Pearl-Series Ultra High Performance S-Video Cable delivers the ultimate in S-Video performance. This cable offers an outstanding low-loss connection for DVD players, satellite receivers, Super VHS, digital camcorders, televisions and any piece of equipment using the standard 4-pin S-Video (S-VHS) connection.

The S-Video format calls for two coaxial cables to allow for independent transmission of the two parts of a video signal; the luminance and chrominance - chrominance for color and luminance for black and white or brightness. This separated transmission provides better picture resolution with less noise.

The down side to the S-Video specification has always been that the size of the (2) internal coaxial cables is limited by the physical size of commonly available connectors, so long S-Video runs have always been a challenge. With the Pearl-Series, we first sourced some oversized connectors which then made it possible to use larger, lower-loss cable. Make no mistake - this is a big S-Video cable. Probably the biggest S-Video cable that you will ever see. It is very flexible and compliant, for its size, but even so, don't expect to make any super-sharp turns with this cable.

If you need to make a long S-Video cable run, you will be hard pressed to find a better-performing cable. This cable provides excellent color, contrast, picture detail and black levels that tend to become compromised when making longer runs with lesser cables. Gold plated, metal-bodied connectors and clear heat-shrink strain-reliefs finish off this beautiful pearlescent cable.
