This Gefen 2x1 DVI SL KVM Switcher makes it simple to use a single DVI monitor, USB keyboard, USB mouse, and audio system
to operate two computers. The high-bandwidth switching maintains digitally
perfect video with no loss of image quality. Just use the included IR remote
control or press the button on the front panel to switch between the computers.
Status lights indicate which computer is selected.
Our close-up pictures make the switcher look somewhat larger than it really is - it is actually rather small -
8"W x 1.75"H x 4.625"D. Weight is 4.7 lbs net, 6
pounds shipping.
We also offer a wired remote control
if you would like to be able to locate the switcher out of sight.
Tech note: This is a high-bandwidth DVI single-link switcher. It is suitable for resolutions up to 1920 x 1200, but it does not support monitors that require DVI dual-link connections, such as the Apple 30 inch Cinema Display. If you need DVI dual-link, please consider our dual-link KVM switcher.

Switch Single Link DVI, USB 2.0 & Audio between Two Computers (PC or
Mac)
The ex•tend•it
2x1 SL DVI Switcher allows you to easily switch between two
cross-platform DVI computers using just one DVI display and USB 2.0
keyboard and mouse. It's referred to as single link DVI to
differentiate it from dual link DVI. Single link describes the
standard use of DVI, capable of resolutions up to 1920x1200; dual
link DVI describes the use of all 24 pins of the DVI connector to
achieve resolutions up to 3840x2400. USB 2.0, also known as hi-speed
USB, is the next generation of USB capable of sending data
significantly quicker than before. Stereo audio is routed through
along with the video to the display. Audio, video and control
signals are "switched" for each computer upon selection, providing
you with an easy and effective method of accessing two computers
from one workstation without the hassle of networking. The DVI SL
Switcher has two independent EQ adjustments that offer multiple
levels of video compensation. Those EQ adjustments will improve the
video quality when low quality DVI cables are utilized into the
switcher.
How it works
You
simply connect your DVI display and USB 2.0 keyboard/mouse to the
Switcher's outputs. Then you connect both computers' DVI, USB and
audio ports to the Switcher's inputs using the supplied cables. From
there, you select the computer you want using the IR remote that
comes with the unit or with any contact closure remote control. It
allows you to choose between a Macintosh or PC keyboard/video/mouse
combination.

Here is an overall view of the switcher front panel. From left to right, you can see
the power status light, the IR window, status lights for computers 1 and 2, the
manual input selector (in case you don't want to use the IR remote), and
equalization adjustments for each DVI connection.
