This Audio Authority AVD-71D SixDrive 1:6 Cat5 Multidriver Distribution System can distribute high-definition component video, as well as both analog and digital audio, to six HDTV monitors, using inexpensive CAT5-type cables. In addition, this modular system can be easily expanded to accommodate as many as 42 locations!
Optional 1170BK expansion modules can be added to increase capacity in increments of six. For each additional 1170BK module, just add your choice of Wallplate/Receivers, such as the 9878 Stainless Steel, dual-gang, shallow-depth wallplate, 9879 single-gang Decora®-style wallplate and/or the 9880 enclosed on-wall or in-wall Cat 5 receiver. The SixDrive system delivers pristine HDTV video at resolutions up to 1080p, as well as full bandwidth analog stereo audio and multi-channel digital audio. The AVD-71D even includes a return pathway for IR control. The unit and expansion modules can be rack-mounted to form an elegant (and rather large) distribution system.
The system includes the 1171BK driver unit, (6) 9879 Decora-style wallplate receivers, an 18-volt universal power supply and user manual.

The SixDrive incorporates the key signal paths necessary for premium audio and video entertainment, plus an IR pathway for easy remote control of A/V components. All this over just two inexpensive, easy to install Cat 5 cables. The Model 1171 Cat 5 MultiDriver distributes HDTV signals to Model 9879 zone receivers up to 1,000 feet from the source. To Add More Outputs to an AVD-71D SixDrive System
Up to 42 outputs can be obtained from a single system. Adding an 802-567 system bus cable (up
to 18 additional outputs) or 802-568 (up to 36 additional outputs) cable, and Model 1170 Cat 5 Multidriver Expanders
increases the outputs in groups of six. Additional Cat 5 receivers are required as needed.
The Zone Receiver
Model 9879 wallplate/receivers come with three Decora® color inserts (The Decora trim cover shown is not included).
The SixDrive can also be used with any of our other Cat
5 receiver styles. The 9879 receivers are easy to install in a standard single-gang electrical box. Two Cat
5 cables deliver component video, digital audio and analog audio to each receiver. The 3.5mm IR jacks provide
a convenient pathway for a third party IR remote distribution network over the Cat 5 pathway. Use the front or
the convenient rear-facing IR jack for exterior or in-wall IR receivers. Use compatible IR receivers and emitters
(see User Manual). IR receiver and emitter
equipment not included.
Premium Quality Signal at Any Distance
Our unique cable length compensation allows adjustment for the optimal signal strength at any distance up to
1,000 feet from the source. Like our commercial video distribution products, the AVD-71D provides reliable ground
isolation, preventing hum bars and other artifacts associated with ground loops.
Expandable in Increments of Six Outputs
It's easy to expand a SixDrive. Simply add 1170 Expanders to the 1171 MultiDriver and connect additional zone
receivers. Up to 42 zones may be served in this way. See the PDF

While the AVD-71D is ideal for new construction or an existing home, it does require special knowledge and tools
to install. We suggest you contact a local custom home installation specialist. Many installation specialists
are members of the Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association and can be located through the CEDIA website.
